The Bacon Work on Demand app makes it easy to find a “side gig” anytime, anywhere. Bacon connects employers to pre-qualified, available candidates who will work on-demand for as little as one shift. People looking to pick up side jobs can pick and choose a shift for extra cash.
Employers can post shifts, pay and job requirements when they have a need, and then choose the person best suited for the job. Potential employees search for work in their area and apply via the app. After the shift is done, employers and employees rate each other.
Employers benefit by saving the time and expense of interviewing from an agency, or online ads. Bacon can easily conduct background checks needed for any job level and safety requirements.
Bacon is currently in several states and has plans to expand quickly across the U.S. Many large companies are already utilizing this platform to find temporary workers.

In this post, you’ll learn why earning residual income could be the best financial security you can get for you and your family.
But before we get into the nitty-gritty, I have a very important question for you…
If something bad happens to you and as a result, you can no longer work, would you be financially buoyant enough to take care of yourself and your family?
If your answer is no, then you really need to take a good look at your financial situation and make the necessary changes.
If you’re serious about securing your financial future, then I implore you to get hold of a notebook and a pen and take notes as what you’re going to learn here is very important.
What is Residual Income & Why is it So Important?
Active income is income that is earned as a direct result of your efforts.
It occurs when you work for a certain period of time and get paid a certain amount of money for the time you worked. This can be in the form of salaries, wages and self-employed service providers like doctors and lawyers.
The difference between active and residual income is that in the latter, your income isn’t limited to the hours you put in and different streams of income allow you to be more financially secure.
If you have a job that you enjoy and love, that’s cool but you really need to think about what protection you have in place to save yourself if for whatever reason you can no longer work.
Earning via a Single Stream of Income is Very Risky
Making a living on a single stream of income is as unwise as travelling interstate in your car without a spare tyre. You don’t need anyone to tell you that that’s unnecessarily very risky.
One excuse a lot of people give for not creating more than one stream of income is the risk involved. But the truth is the biggest risk you can take is not to take risks at all.
Take some time to think about it; If for some reason you can longer work and your job is your only source of income, how will you take care of yourself and your family?
That’s a very risky situation to be in and you owe yourself and your family a responsibility to not put them in that kind of position.
Will Residual Income Alone Suffice?
The story of the author Hal Elfrod is useful here. During a difficult time in his life when he was battling aggressive cancer, he couldn’t work or take care of himself. However, he was so grateful because when he was younger, he discovered network marketing and learned how to create multiple streams of income.
If not for the fact that he had more than one stream of income, he would not have been able to take care of himself, let alone his family and the situation would have been a lot worse than it already was.
Whatever You’re Thinking – Think Bigger
A lot of people have small minds. People are generally more concerned about today alone and usually, don’t take the time to plan for their future.
If you’re living paycheck to paycheck and you’re mentally and physically capable, imagine if something goes wrong and you’re suddenly unable to work.
Concentrate Your Energy In the Right Areas of Your Life
If you currently have a job you need to keep to make ends meet even though you’d rather be someplace else, then admittedly, your situation is a bit more challenging but trust me when I say it can be done.
Here’s the thing; you don’t need to put in too much into building your business to see positive results. All you need is to put an hour or two daily and over time, you’ll reap the fruits of your labor.
Once you can practice and master this, you’ll be happier and less stressed because you’re doing something you don’t only love but rewards you more.
You Are Fully Responsible for Your Financial Future
The most important thing to learn here is that no one but you is responsible for your financial future – not the economy and definitely not your employer; you are completely responsible for how your financial future will look like.

In this post, I’ll show you how to handle a sales objection that most, if not all of us face at one point or the other in our business lives and that’s the ‘Until Syndrome.’
The most worrisome problem is that most people have it without knowing.
The question is what are the symptoms and how will you know if you have the ‘Until Syndrome?’
Here’s the most obvious symptom:
You know you have a problem in your life. The solution comes knocking, but instead of opening the door — you peek at the solution and decide that you’re going to wait until you…
have the time
have the money
have more leads
have the energy
I’m quite sure the above scenarios sound familiar. It’s either you’ve done it yourself or a prospect has said those things when you’re prospecting them.
Now without further ado let’s sink our teeth in it;
What got you to where you are now won’t get you to where you want to be
When an opportunity to move forward comes knocking, what is the fundamental cause of your decision to either act on it or ignore it?
It’s very likely that the thought process you’ve adopted is what’s responsible for the unwanted situation you find yourself in right now and also what’s preventing you from getting yourself out of that situation.
You shouldn’t wait for your situation to change before you take action.
Take the necessary action now and change your situation. Stop being a victim of the ‘Until Syndrome.’
For things to change you have to change
I’m going to be really blunt with you here and give you some tough love as well 😉
If you think that you can’t make a $500 investment on a life changing opportunity until you get paid, you need to change that way of thinking ASAP!
It may sound cliche but there’s no disputing the fact that time waits for no one.
A day becomes a week, a week becomes a month and a month becomes a year whether or not you like. It won’t wait for you to get paid.
And so each day you’re presented with an opportunity, you have two choices: Take action and give yourself an opportunity to succeed or continue to be a victim of the until syndrome and guarantee yourself failure.
So are you going to wait until ‘one day’ or are you going to take action TODAY?
The choice is yours.
The only time you have to make a change is now
I’ve worked with a lot of people in my business and if there’s one thing that I believe holds people back it’s confidence.
A lot of people don’t have the confidence to understand that if they can decide to take that bold step they’ll very likely become very successful in their business.
Here’s one question I want to ask you; what’s going to change if you don’t do things differently from the way you’re doing them now? The answer is probably ‘nothing’ right?
Life wait’s for no one guys.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
Albert Einstein once said insanity is doing the same over and over again and expecting different results so if you’ve been spinning your wheels yearly, RIGHT NOW is the time to change all that. Not later, not tomorrow, not next week, not until you get your pay cheque. But RIGHT NOW!
Now is the best time to rid yourself of the ‘Until Syndrome.’ Make sure you make it happen!

Today, I’m going to educate you about how to make money shoveling snow. Winter is almost here. Depending on where you live, this presents a great way to make money!
That’s right, whenever it snows there is a huge opportunity to earn extra cash. If you’re willing to hustle, you can shovel people’s driveways, porches, and walkways for extra cash. Although it’s a labor-intensive job, it can be very profitable. While this opportunity is great for kids, it can also be an awesome side hustle for young adults.
As a kid, I used to do this every winter. I grew up in small town Maine. We got a ton of snow each winter. Whenever it snowed, I would reach out to neighbors to see if they needed me to shovel their walkway, porch or driveway. Although not everyone was interested in my services, some people took me up on my offer.
I could make $50 to $100 in half a day’s work. That was a lot of money as a kid. Keep in mind this was in the 1980s and early 1990s. I’m sure that if you were organized and hustled, you could make even more money than that today. Here are a few tips to help you do this.
9 Tips to Make Money Shoveling Snow
# 1 Contact People Ahead of Time – In the early fall, contact everyone you know to see if they will let you shovel their snow for them throughout the winter. Try to lock in as many customers as you can, ahead of time. That way, when the snow hits the ground, you are off to the races!
# 2 Build Up Your Customer List – Whenever you shovel snow for someone, add them to your customer list. Be sure to send them a hand written thank you note for hiring you. In addition, stay in touch with these people throughout the year, so they don’t forget about you or hire a competitor.
# 3 Go the Extra Mile – When you are shoveling snow at a client’s home or business, be sure you go the extra mile. Do an exceptional job. Treat it as if it was your own house. Do things you aren’t paid to do, the little added touch. This will go a long way in keeping your customers happy.
# 4 Use Tools to Help You – As a kid, invest in a good shovel, maybe even some equipment such as a used snow blower. This will let you work smart and help you get more done in less time. As an adult, you might want to even buy a snow plow for your truck.
# 5 Team up with Someone Else – If you know someone who plows people’s driveways, reach out to them and see if they will hire you to do all the little work, such as clearing walkways and porches. This lets you tap into their customer base. This is one of my best tips.
# 6 Ask for Referrals – Whenever you deal with a client, and they are happy with your services, be sure you ask them for referrals. Ask them for two people and two businesses in the local area they know who might want to hire someone to help them with snow removal.
# 7 Get Your Name Out There – Be willing to advertise and have some marketing materials to help you promote your new side hustle. This includes flyers, business cards, brochures, a website, a Facebook page, etc. Realize your real business is FINDING and KEEPING customers, not just shoveling snow.
# 8 Visit Local Businesses – Another great tip to find more work is to visit local businesses in your area. Focus on the “mom and pop” type businesses with walkways and porches. This would be a great little niche to focus on, plus you can probably earn more money per job by working with local businesses, than just with residential properties.
# 9 Be Reliable – It’s important that you show up on time. Your customer needs to be able to count on you and know you will do a good job. If you aren’t reliable, they will hire someone else.
I hope you enjoyed these 9 tips on how to make money shoveling snow.

Charles Holmes is an author, business coach, blogger and entrepreneur. As a kid, he shoveled snow each winter to earn some extra cash. He now lives in sunny Florida with his beautiful wife, Rachel. You can learn more about him here.
What do you know about container deposits? If you’ve never heard of that term before, this information will excite you.
Some states have a container deposit. This is extra money you pay for the item when you buy beverages in glass, plastic or glass bottles. Normally, it’s about 5 or 10 cents per item. It varies by state. This money can then be “redeemed” when the item is used up and returned to a recycling center or redemption center.
As of October 2010, 11 different states have a container deposit. Those states are California, Connecticut Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon and Vermont. If you live in one of those 11 states, this might be a perfect side hustle for you, especially if you are a teenager or kid.
I grew up in small town Maine. As a child and teenager, we would collect bottles and cans on the side of the road whenever we could. We would also save up the bottles, cans and glass in our own homes.
We would try to fill up several garbage bags worth of cans and bottles. Once we had several bags of recyclables, we would visit one of the redemption centers in our town and exchange our bottles and cans for five cents each.
At five cents per item, it might not sound like a ton of money to an adult. However, it can add up pretty quickly. Find 100 bottles and get five cents each and you would have $5. Find 1,000 cans and redeem them at a nickel each and you would have $50 cash.
I remember one time I saved I bottles for a few months and cashed them in for a few hundred dollars. I felt like I had just won the lottery. I used the money to buy a new bike. A few hundred dollars isn’t life changing for most adults, but as a kid, it makes you feel rich!
I also remember a fundraiser we did for our high school wrestling team. About 20 of us worked really hard over the weekend collecting bottles on the side of the road and visiting people’s homes looking for donations of bottles. We ended up raising close to $1000 that weekend for our wrestling team. It was a lot of fun and definitely worth our time.
Why You Should Do This
Whether you are an adult or teenager, you should save up your bottles, glass and cans and redeem them for cash. It’s just smart money. It takes very little effort on your own, just a little discipline.
Listed below are a few simple things you can do to work smart and make even more money recycling soda cans, plastic bottles and glass for cash.
#1 Return other people’s recyclable items for them. Reach out to everyone you know and offer to take their bottles and cans to the redemption center for them, in exchange for a percentage of the cash. Most people are busy and would love to save the time to do something else. If you could find 10-20 people to do this with, your commission could be pretty significant.
# 2 Ask people you know to save their bottles for you and let them know you will pick them up once a month. Ask your close friends and family, especially grandma, if she will save her cans and bottles for you. You’ll never know if you don’t ask.
# 3 Find a few busy roads where people litter lots of cans and bottles, and pick them up. Of course, be safe, wear a reflector vest, and have adult supervision, so you don’t get hit by a car.
# 4 Make it fun and have a contest with a few of your close friends to see who can collect the most cans, bottles and plastics in a given month. The competitive spirit will force you to come up with creative ways to win.
My final tip is to save the money you get from the container deposits and reinvest it into other side hustles. Use the money to buy a used lawn mower, so you can mow yards. Use the money to start a lemonade stand. Use the money to buy items at yard sales and resell them on eBay. Or, put it in your savings account or pay off debt. Simply put, use your hard-earned cash for seed money and watch your income grow.
What are your thoughts? Did you grow up in one of these 11 states that have container deposits? If so, did you collect bottles, cans and glass to recycle them for cash? If you did, leave a comment below and tell us what your experience was like. I look forward to hearing from you.
