You’ve heard the word…but what does it mean…exactly?

Drop-shipping is an e-commerce business model that allows you to sell a product directly to the consumer through your own online “Company store” without having to buy any inventory, or rent a storage / shipping facility. No financial  investment in inventory or storage = less financial risk.

No shipping to the customer = easier for you.  Your job is Marketing, Sales and Customer Service.

The beauty of drop-shipping is that you can carry a variety of items in your store because you don’t have to warehouse any of it. You can choose to carry as many or as few products as you want to manage. Once you decide what you want to sell, you can usually find a drop-ship supplier to supply it.

Here’s how it works:

  • The customer places and pays for an order through your online store
  • You forward the order and shipping details directly to your drop-ship supplier 
  • Your supplier packages and ships the order directly to the customer 
  • You pay the wholesale price to the supplier and the difference is your gross profit.  You can expect between 10-30% based on your chosen retail pricing strategy.

A drop-ship directory is a database of suppliers that are organized by niche where you can find products to sell. Companies like Worldwide Brands vet every company in their directory for legitimacy.

Because your business hinges on the quality of your drop-shipper, keep in mind that a successful partnership between you and your distributor is essential.

Before you choose any vendor, you should always place a test order to see…

  • Shipping time within 1-2 business days
  • Did the product arrive safely and undamaged?
  • The quality of their Customer Service

It’s also very important to ask if the vendor offers a real time inventory feed so you don’t sell sold out or backordered items.

Customer service and your online reputation can make or break your business, and you are staking the reputation of your online store by linking yourself to your drop-ship distributor.   If they are unreliable, it will reflect negatively on your Company. In the age of social media, news spreads lightning fast, so it is crucial that you do whatever you can to maintain a positive image for your online store.  Unfortunately, you will have very little control of product fulfillment – you can’t control when a customer will receive their product.

Want to start your own drop-shipping business? You can literally start for under $5 with a free open source shopping cart.

All you need is a website, free credit card processing – and you can start taking orders immediately.

For example:

  • Sign up for webhosting – $3.95/month
  • Install an open source shopping cart – Free
  • Install an SSL certificate – Most hosts will give you an SSL certificate for free to secure your website
  • Free credit card processing service – $0/month, 2-3% fee per transaction
  • Website template – $20-$50

Total = $3.95 to $53.95 (if you purchase a template)

An easier, but more expensive method is to utilize a site like Shopify with Oberlo extensions and a processor such as PayPal or Stripe which make automating your shop and inventory a breeze.  This option gives you more creative freedom if you are not a technical wizard. But, they will cost you approximately $50/mo. plus processing fees.

As with any business venture, there are always downsides.  Any expectation of a get rich quick option needs to be realistic…making money with a drop-ship store still requires time and attention to produce an income.  The most important thing is to research your options before opening your Store.

What, exactly, is Direct Marketing?

Direct marketing is a when a business communicates directly to a customer and offer a method to procure a direct response.  Direct marketing gives you the opportunity to promote your products and services directly to your customers in a targeted way.  It should focus on promoting a specific product or service, and call on customers to act – to ask for further information, visit a website, or make a purchase.

A good direct marketing campaign should:

  • help you build relationships with customers
  • prove which marketing approach appeals to your target market
  • increase sales

The most important step to an effective direct marketing campaign is to identify and know your ideal target customer.  

  • Who are they? 
  • Where are they and what are their shopping habits? 
  • What is their pain point, and how does your product or service help them?  

By taking the time to research and identify the customers who are most likely to need or want your products and services, you can focus your marketing efforts when and where you have the highest chance of achieving results.

Targeting your message to a specific audience can help you set realistic sales goals and improve results on a limited marketing budget. Businesses can run effective marketing campaigns at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising.

Utilizing data you collect, you can personalize offers to potential customers to create an immediate connection to your business.  In addition, by combining direct marketing with customer loyalty programs, you can build stronger customer relationships (redeemable points, coupons, discount offers, invites to upcoming sales).  This technique should realize a better sales success rate than mass marketing to people who may not be interested in your products or services.

From past experiences, I’ve found diverse products to have more residual income potential when compared to services. Although services are ‘easier’ to sell, it isn’t always more profitable.

Here’s why I  think so…

When you sell a service, it’s like an easy way out; because you don’t have to explain all the intricate details of the product. But, people can only need so many services in a month.

When you sell a product, however, you can get much more revenue per customer. You may begin by selling one or two awesome products to your customers.

When people see how superb these products are, they’ll go on to buy more products from you. This way, your potential revenue is endless. This is why it’s so important that you find a company with quality products.

Direct sales or Network Marketing Companies

Not to start a debate here, but there are big differences between a Direct Sale and a Network Marketing Company. One common mistake newbies make is assuming they’re the same thing.

Here are a few differences:

  • Direct marketing companies are more invested in durable products while network marketing companies are more about consumable products.
  • In direct sales, you work on a commission basis (you get your money when you make a sale) while in network marketing, you earn your money by building a system (this is where residual income lies).

This is why I insist that you make sure that the business model aligns with your goals. In my experience, finding a company that sells consumable products is often the faster route to making stable residual income.

Here’s my advice:

If you want to make stable residual income, go into business with a company whose products are so good that people will buy with or without a compensation plan attached to it.

And finally, find a company that deals in consumables as this will save you the time and energy of re-selling to your customers over and over again.

That’s precisely what you stand to gain when you create a power story. Your power story will make prospects start paying attention to you and this can fetch you more sales and more teammates.

In this post, I’ll teach you how to create an elevator pitch or power story that will get the attention of your prospects and have them immediately interested in what you’re offering.

Your elevator pitch tells a powerful story

Sharing a story is one of the best ways to get people interested in what you do or sell.

As harsh as this may sound, your prospects do not care about:

  • The 7 ‘miracle’ ingredients in your product
  • The award your CEO just won
  • The presence of your company in the Inc 500 list etc

Admittedly, you might be excited about all these things and rightly so, but your prospects? not so much…maybe not at all.

The only thing your prospect does care about is If your business or product will work for them

And the best way to satisfy this curiosity is through a POWER story.

The question now is, have you sat down to create a power story

If you have, great! But if not, it’s okay. We are going to do it together.

If you’re unsure of the importance of crafting a power story, then I’d recommend a book I completely love titled “Get Over Your Damn Self” by Romi Neustadt.

  • Who are you?
  • What’s changed in your life that’s made you start looking for more
  • How you got to know about your company and why you chose to be a part of it
  • What it’s doing for you or what it promises to do for you

These are the 4 powerful ingredients you’ll want to include in your power story

They don’t have to be long…it’s actually best if you keep it concise and sweet.

People are not interested in how successful you are so it’s better to be yourself. As a matter of fact, the more vulnerable and human you appear, the more powerful your elevator pitch will be. This is because the more vulnerable you appear, the more accessible you will look and so it’ll be easier for people to relate to you.

Active income is income that is earned as a direct result of your efforts.

It occurs when you work for a certain period of time and get paid a certain amount of money for the time you worked. This can be in the form of salaries, wages and self-employed service providers like doctors and lawyers.

The difference between active and residual income is that in the latter, your income isn’t limited to the hours you put in and different streams of income allow you to be more financially secure.

If you have a job that you enjoy and love, that’s cool but you really need to think about what protection you have in place to save yourself if for whatever reason you can no longer work.

Earning via a Single Stream of Income is Very Risky

Making a living on a single stream of income is as unwise as travelling interstate in your car without a spare tyre. You don’t need anyone to tell you that that’s unnecessarily very risky.

One excuse a lot of people give for not creating more than one stream of income is the risk involved. But the truth is the biggest risk you can take is not to take risks at all.

Take some time to think about it; If for some reason you can longer work and your job is your only source of income, how will you take care of yourself and your family?

That’s a very risky situation to be in and you owe yourself and your family a responsibility to not put them in that kind of position.

The story of the author Hal Elfrod is useful here. During a difficult time in his life when he was battling aggressive cancer, he couldn’t work or take care of himself. However, he was so grateful because when he was younger, he discovered network marketing and learned how to create multiple streams of income.

If not for the fact that he had more than one stream of income, he would not have been able to take care of himself, let alone his family and the situation would have been a lot worse than it already was.

 

Whatever You’re Thinking – Think Bigger

A lot of people have small minds. People are generally more concerned about today alone and usually, don’t take the time to plan for their future.

If you’re living paycheck to paycheck and you’re mentally and physically capable, imagine if something goes wrong and you’re suddenly unable to work.

Concentrate Your Energy In the Right Areas of Your Life

If you currently have a job you need to keep to make ends meet even though you’d rather be someplace else, then admittedly, your situation is a bit more challenging but trust me when I say it can be done.

Here’s the thing; you don’t need to put in too much into building your business to see positive results. All you need is to put an hour or two daily and over time, you’ll reap the fruits of your labor.

Once you can practice and master this, you’ll be happier and less stressed because you’re doing something you don’t only love but rewards you more.

How to Deal with the ‘Until Syndrome’

In this post, I’ll show you how to handle a sales objection that most, if not all of us face at one point or the other in our business lives and that’s the ‘Until Syndrome.’

The most worrisome problem is that most people have it without knowing.

The question is what are the symptoms and how will you know if you have the ‘Until Syndrome?’

Here’s the most obvious symptom:

You know you have a problem in your life. The solution comes knocking, but instead of opening the door — you peek at the solution and decide that you’re going to wait until you…

  • have the time
  • have the money
  • have more leads
  • have the energy
  • become successful

I’m quite sure the above scenarios sound familiar. It’s either you’ve done it yourself or a prospect has said those things when you’re prospecting them.

Now without further ado let’s sink our teeth in it;

What got you to where you are now won’t get you to where you want to be

When an opportunity to move forward comes knocking, what is the fundamental cause of your decision to either act on it or ignore it?

It’s very likely that the thought process you’ve adopted is what’s responsible for the unwanted situation you find yourself in right now and also what’s preventing you from getting yourself out of that situation.

You shouldn’t wait for your situation to change before you take action.

Take the necessary action now and change your situation. Stop being a victim of the ‘Until Syndrome.’

For things to change you have to change

I’m going to be really blunt with you here and give you some tough love as well 😉

If you think that you can’t make a $500 investment on a life changing opportunity until you get paid, you need to change that way of thinking ASAP!

It may sound cliche but there’s no disputing the fact that time waits for no one.

A day becomes a week, a week becomes a month and a month becomes a year whether or not you like. It won’t wait for you to get paid.

And so each day you’re presented with an opportunity, you have two choices: Take action and give yourself an opportunity to succeed or continue to be a victim of the until syndrome and guarantee yourself failure.

So are you going to wait until ‘one day’ or are you going to take action TODAY?

The choice is yours.

The only time you have to make a change is now

 I’ve worked with a lot of people in my business and if there’s one thing that I believe holds people back it’s confidence.
A lot of people don’t have the confidence to understand that if they can decide to take that bold step they’ll very likely become very successful in their business.

Conclusion

Here’s one question I want to ask you; what’s going to change if you don’t do things differently from the way you’re doing them now? The answer is probably ‘nothing’ right?

Life wait’s for no one guys.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

Albert Einstein once said insanity is doing the same over and over again and expecting different results so if you’ve been spinning your wheels yearly, RIGHT NOW is the time to change all that. Not later, not tomorrow, not next week, not until you get your pay cheque. But RIGHT NOW! 

Now is the best time to rid yourself of the ‘Until Syndrome.’ Make sure you make it happen!

Network marketing is an awesome business that has transformed the lives of many in amazing ways

However, it’s not immune from criticism from those who due to mistakes and/or ignorance on their part have experienced failure and instead of looking at how their actions or inactions led to their failure, have resorted to blaming the industry.

So before we look into today’s training, it is important to note that like most things in life, network marketing is an industry that requires work in order for it to work for you.

The expectations people have are sometimes falsely represented when people initially begin their network marketing journey.

On the flip side, if you tell someone exactly how things work and give them a realistic and honest idea of how much they stand to gain, the chances of them not meeting their expectations will be slim or even non-existent.

Unbelief

If you don’t believe in yourself, if you don’t believe that you can make it big in anything, not just network marketing, then it’s never going to happen. How are you going to get prospects to believe in you or in what you’re selling to them if you don’t believe it yourself first?

This is why it is crucial that you absolutely believe in what you’re doing in order to make sales and build your team.

And it’s not just enough to have belief but your belief and confidence in yourself must be over and above the disbelief of others. You must have an overwhelming amount of confidence in yourself even if the people around you do not.

Lack of Ambition and Dedication

With every great achievement in life comes an even greater level of work expended in order to reap rewards. Ask anyone who has made it big and they’ll tell you that a lot of work will be required in the beginning stages of your business before you taste the fruits of your consistent labor.

You can’t have a million dollar dream with a minimum wage work ethic

So it’s important that your passion, drive and work ethic match whatever dreams you have for your business.

Lack of Adequate Training

There are a  plethora of network marketing companies out there and while some have very good training programs, unfortunately, some don’t.

If you feel your company isn’t training you well enough, then you need to look for network marketing gurus that you can learn from

And don’t think that because you’ve done well in brick and mortar businesses, you’ve got nothing else to learn to be successful in network marketing. Network marketing is a whole different ball game from most traditional business out there so you definitely need very good training.

How to Get your Prospects Interested in your Business

In this post, I’m going to share tips on how to get your prospects excited about your business, service or products. I understand that it can be frustrating when you try to share your services or products to people and they’re apathetic to it or they can’t just understand what you’re talking about.

The good news is there are some amazing sales tips that if well implemented can help you get your prospects to listen to what you have to say.

Here’s the thing; your prospects aren’t really concerned about what you’re selling. The only thing they’re thinking is “what’s in it for me?”

The moment you understand this, the more effective your prospecting will be and so I’m going to tell you what to say so that your prospects will:

  • Listen to You
  • Get Excited
  • Become Inquisitive

In a nutshell, people couldn’t care less about what you’re offering, on the contrary, they’re only concerned about how it adds VALUE to their lives without which they will not patronize you.

If you’re really interested in getting prospects excited about your business or service, then you definitely have to speak to the need, wants and desires that they have.

Sales Tip

Stop talking features and start talking benefits. Don’t know what the benefits of your business or products are? I’ll show you. Here’s an example.

Example 1

If for example, you’re in health and wellness with a basic 3 Step System that can help with weight loss, telling your prospect how amazing your product is because it’s a simple 3 step system is going to make them yawn and get them disinterested. You know why? It’s a feature; it won’t interest your prospect because it doesn’t tell them how it will benefit them.

So think more about the benefits of your products and who it’s meant for.

Benefit: An easy weight loss strategy for busy people who don’t have the luxury of trying out complex weight loss plans or diets

This will obviously help a busy and ultra-mobile person so you could say something like;

“Our simple but very effective 3 step system can help you lose weight and release you from the grim task of counting calories or making and sticking to complicated recipes that take aeons to make.”

Assuming that’s your prospect you’ll most likely get them to listen.

Sales Tip – You Don’t Want To Come Across as Salesy

This is a no-no because you’re going to feel bad about yourself whether or not you make any sales. But when you’re genuinely interested in what people really want and make yourself the go-to guy when they need a solution, you won’t only get more loyal and happy customers, you’ll also feel good about yourself and about what you do.

People need to see a clear picture of how your products can add value to their lives and it is your duty to paint that picture

Social Media Marketing: Building a Strong Connection with Subscribers

It is no longer news that social media marketing is the most effective form of digital marketing right now. We see brands take advantage of this ‘Goldmine’ every day, some more than others.

Consumers are overwhelmed with an enormous amount of information every day and this initiates a filtration process where consumers attempt to make things less complicated by sticking to a few trusted or ‘preferred’ brands for content (just as we have few friends in real life).

In establishing your brand on social media, you’ll need to create a strong connection with your subscribers. The aim is to be the ‘go-to guy’ they call when they need ‘assistance’; it’s called branding.

Follow these guidelines to make your brand an authority in your niche by connecting with subscribers on a deep level.

Make them a part of the process

The primary objective of social media marketing is to keep your subscribers actively engaged. What better way to achieve this than making them a part of the content generation process. This way, you reduce your workload by ‘outsourcing’ some part of your content generation and more importantly, you give your fans a sense of purpose and partnership.

Also, by making customers a part of the process, you’ll be forced to listen to them. This will let you know how they think and what their needs are.

Come off as Professional   

As much as you want to connect with subscribers, you must remember that you are a brand first so you must first earn their trust by posting genuine and unique content (Something they can’t get elsewhere). When people perceive your brand as the ‘real deal’ your social value increases in their eyes and they want to associate with you.

Being professional begins with: your profile description, the quality of your images, and the quality of content you post. Everyone wants to identify with something mind-blowing, so, you must make your brand mind-blowing if you want to connect with people.

Be genuine in your interests

The need to connect with your fans must be genuine or else they’ll spot you from a mile away and any chance of earning their trust is lost.

You want to put a face on that brand because no one likes to deal with a robot, they’re boring. So ensure that you can relate with your subscribers on a personal level. Use terms they are familiar with and don’t just tell them about your products, show them! That’s why videos are so awesome ass people can see what you’re talking about.

Reward your customers

Nothing wins a friend faster than a gift. It’s basic psychology. A simple gift will go a long way in keeping your customers loyal. It doesn’t even have to be monetary, sometimes acknowledgement is all you need to make someone feel special, appreciated and committed to your brand.

Thirdly, take a good look at the pay plan. How fair and even is the overall distribution of profits? This is very important as it will determine how you will get paid.

Number four is the timing and momentum. Consider where the company is at the time you intend joining and make sure it’s growing. And lastly, you should take a look at the training, support and business systems.

  1. Practice what you’re taught

To be successful, you have to be willing to listen to and learn from the experts. The network marketing industry is structured in a way that the successes of the veterans in your company is determined to an extent by how well they can help you succeed.
